"Good things happen every day. We only have to notice."
~Ann Wilson Schaef
Hello, and welcome to my class! I am so excited to be teaching this year at
I am originally from South California, but have lived in Utah for the last eight years. I am married and have two beautiful children, ages 13 and 11. My children keep me busy in my "free" time with all of their lacrosse practices and games. I adore reading and music, and also enjoy crafting, refinishing furniture, and spending time with my family.
This will be my sixth year working in education. I started out as a substitute teacher, moved on to being a Teaching Assistant in 1st grade and three years in 5th. I have also spent the last three years teaching musical theatre and drama to kids grades 3-6. I absolutely love 5th grade, and am so excited to be teaching it this year.
I believe that learning should be fun and hands on. I like to incorporate music, games, and movement into lessons. I look for comprehension and utilize my knowledge of the various learning styles to check for learned understanding. One of the best moments is when a student suddenly understands a difficult concept that they have struggled with. It is exciting to watch students grow and learn.
