How we do spelling tests will be changing. We are going to an online spelling test.
Three spelling assignments are due every Friday. Students are encouraged to choose assignments that will help them in the best way possible for memorizing the spelling words. Choose one of these assignments, or one of your own. Assignments are turned in on Fridays and need to be either the written assignment or a parent signature stating the assignment was completed.
Story Maker
Get creative and write a short story using at least 10 spelling words. |
Words Words Words
Write each word three times, using a different color for each column. |
Parent Test
Give one of your parents a spelling test, making sure to use your words in a sentence. Then grade the test to see how they did. |
Verbal Words
Have someone give you a verbal spelling test. Make sure to use your phonograms for the week. |
Flash Cards
Make flash cards for all of your words and use them to study. |
Backwards
Write your words forwards and backwards. |
Counting Letters
Write all of your words down and count up the letters for the word. Vowels are worth 2 points and consonants are worth 1 point. |
Sentences
Take at least 15 words from your list and write them into different sentences. Make sure to underline the spelling word. |
Spelling City
Do Spelling City activities for 15 minutes and have a parent sign a note and staple it to your weekly planner. |
