Feeding Balthazar
You are welcome to bring in food for Balthazar. Here is some information to help know what to bring.
What does Balthazar like to eat?
He is an omnivore which means he eats both plants and animals. He eats mostly plants of fresh vegetables and fruits. A few times a week he eats proteins that come from animals or insects like meal worms or crickets. We feed him dried food called Flukers Buffet Blend Juvenile Formula. He also loves to eat live insects but it is IMPORTANT that they are not caught from outside where the bugs could have a disease and then it would make Balthazar sick.
You are welcome to bring in crickets or meal worms purchased at the pet store. This would be very appreciated!!
Here are some of the fruits and veggies that he likes and doesn’t like.

Sour fruit or Vegetable

Iceberg lettuce
It is always fun to have Balthazar try new fruits and Veggies. I always check online to see if it is a food he should eat before I feed it to him. He should avoid citrus foods and spinach because it blocks his calcium intake. Foods like Iceberg lettuce do not give him any nutrients, so he should not eat these.
